Vivian French
Vivian French (born 1945) is a prolific British children’s author whose career spans more than 300 books, including picture books, early readers, non-fiction, and fantasy series such as Tales from the Five Kingdoms. A former actress and theatre worker, she is also a dedicated mentor and educator, teaching at Edinburgh College of Art and co-founding Picture Hooks to support emerging illustrators. She is widely respected for her commitment to literacy, inclusion, and inspiring young readers and creators through school visits, workshops, and community arts work.
