S. J. Baker is an English author and secondary school English teacher based in Hull. After studying English Literature at Cambridge, she trained as a teacher and has spent her career sharing her passion for storytelling with young people. Her debut YA dystopian novel, Calm, reflects her interest in imagining how individuals respond to oppressive societal control.
