Marisa Linton
Marisa Linton is a British author and historian who writes fantasy for young adults, drawing on her deep knowledge of folklore, magic and the supernatural; her debut YA novel The Binding Spell won the 2023 Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition and was published in May 2025.She was formerly a professor of history at Kingston University, specialising in topics like witchcraft, magical beliefs and the French Revolution before turning to fiction. Linton lives in Brighton, and her work often blends her academic interests with richly atmospheric storytelling rooted in ancient legends and folklore
