Sometimes I felt like I was in the book; especially when they camped - it felt like I was camping too
This book is an adventurous one. It seemed fun and exciting in the wilderness; everything was perfect until the rain… luckily Willow and her friends Mouse, Bear, Hare Fox and Raven, along with dog Sniff, managed to rebuild their beloved flooded river camp and find Fox’s nan’s precious telescope. And of course, Willow’s wish on a shooting star for Freddie (her brother) to get better, came true.
The pictures brought the story to life and sometimes I felt like I was in the book; especially when they camped – it felt like I was camping too.

Mum says: This is a fab. story about a group of young friends exploring their local wilderness and imaginations together. Eva was captivated throughout the story. The language used in book was accessible for her age group, with a little stretch!
She loved the pictures, particularly the map at the beginning, which she kept referring to throughout the book. As well as pictures of the children themselves, as she enjoyed trying to work out who was who. She loved this story and the style of book so much we’ll be buying the next in the series.
About the Book
This is the third book in the Willow Wildthing series of magical adventures for readers by Gill Lewis and illustrated by Rebecca Bagley.
When readers open this book they enter a world where magic and nature collide, where magical creatures can be found and where strange powers are at work.
In this story the Wild Things – a group of children who have taken on the characteristics of the wild creatures they are named after – find that their camp has been destroyed by a flood.
If only it would stop raining, then, perhaps, they could enjoy the meteor shower and the wishes that they make on the shooting stars would come true…
