Book Review

it is a very adventurous and thrilling book to read

In this book, Unico is about a brave unicorn who finds himself lost in a mysterious world. It is ruled by an evil robot called ‘Mother’ who lives in a factory controlling everything but Unico is trying to stop this to save his friends Chiko, Grandpa Yoji and Garapachi the mouse.

Meanwhile, Venus the god of evil and love has sent Iver to go with Strigaloth to hunt and kill Unico. I liked it when Unico managed to escape the factory, as he was forced to go there and then he was outsmarted by Mother. I was filled with excitement when Unico used his powers to generate a real life landscape of a sea in Chiko’s room because they spent a fun time playing around.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised that the author used an unexpected setting as I thought it might be set in a lively and heavenly place but it is rather robotic and dystopian. As I started to become connected to the storyline and the characters, I didn’t like it when Unico needed to split from his friends because it was quite sad.

It was upsetting when Mother told Unico about Mother’s life as it was about how they caused a lot of disasters. I think the author could improve this book by adding more humour as it was gloomy in parts.

I would rate this book an 8 out of 10 because it is a very adventurous and thrilling book to read but it still could have been better by adding more comical elements. I would recommend this to anyone above 7 years old, as there is no extreme violence and it is quite neutral and entertaining for most ages.
