My favourite part of the book was when they found out the big secret (I'm not going to tell you it because it will spoil the WHOLE book!)
The Lion Cubs’ secret was an amazing book that I’d recommend to all animal lovers. My favourite character was Martine because she is very adventurous and brave.

I love how the author, Lauren St John , wrote the book in a way that I could picture each scene in my head. Her description of South Africa made me feel like I was really there with Tau. There were moments of tension that had me on the edge of my seat.
The more the story went on the more engrossed I became. I enjoyed the way the story focussed on protecting animals and what a little act of kindness can do!
About the Book
After Martine rescues an orphaned lion cub from a market, she dreams of keeping him forever. But Tau, the cub, already has a home. He’s been snatched from one of South Africa’s most famous game reserves.
When Martine and her best friend Ben are invited to the reserve to help settle Tau in, they leap at the chance. But the beautiful wilderness is riddled with mysteries and secrets, and the lion cub’s secret is the biggest of all.
As Martine and Ben start asking questions, they quickly discover that there are those who’ll stop at nothing to get to Tau. Will the lonely lion cub ever be truly free?

Lauren St John is a British-Zimbabwean author born in December 1966 in what was then Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). She grew up on a farm and game reserve surrounded by wild animals — an upbringing that inspires her award-winning children’s and young adult fiction, including the beloved The White Giraffe and the mystery series beginning with Dead Man's Cove
