My favourite character is Melody as she is always so enthusiastic
The Skeleton Puzzle is a fun and exciting book. The main characters are Jake and his friends, Matthew and Melody. When their neighbour Old Nina, asks Jake to do a job, he discovers a skeleton in her garden.
If this isn’t a big enough mystery to solve, a stranger turns up claiming to be the long-lost son of Old Nina. Years ago her son Michael, aged ten got lost at the beach. But now Michael has turned up with his own child, Danny.
Jake and his friends discover where some precious jewels are and they need to get to them first or somebody else will.
My favourite character is Melody as she is always so enthusiastic. Although the book was exciting I did feel sad for Old Nina because she lost her son.

The young detectives of Chestnut Close – Matthew, Melody and Jake – are back to solve another twisty mystery!
When a long-buried skeleton is found in Old Nina’s garden, the kids are set on discovering who it is, how it got there and who was responsible.
Then Old Nina’s long-lost son turns up, with his own kid in tow, which should be a cause for celebration.
But are the pair really who they are claiming to be – or are they imposters?
As Matthew, Melody and Jake investigate, they dig up jaw-dropping secrets and uncover a plot to stash some priceless jewels on the Close.
