Book Review

I think this book encourages people to be brave, be themselves and not to be afraid of accepting help. To express how you really feel.

Nora Frost is a girl that lives with her mum. Her mum has PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), so has good days and bad days. Sometimes her mum is in bed all day. Nora pretends that everything is fine though and never accepts help from anyone. Until the night animals visit…

This fantasy story is really emotional, with some sad parts but an overall happy vibe. There are lots of unexpected twists and turns which lead to a lovely ending.

The author makes it easy to imagine the night animals’ world and I was hooked from the very beginning. The beautiful illustrations help make the story come to life.

I think this book encourages people to be brave, be themselves and not to be afraid of accepting help. To express how you really feel.

I would recommend it to both children and adults, it is one of the best books I have ever read.

About the Book

In an emotional but hopeful story, Sarah Ann Juckes’ deeply moving novel, illustrated by the award-winning Sharon King-Chai sees a brave young girl face down her ghosts. Strengthened by her connection to the natural world we are happy to say that things end well for Nora and her family.
