Book Review

The story did make me feel sad at some times and excited at some times, it was a rollercoaster of feelings!

My overall thoughts are that this book is an amazing great adventurous mystery story, but it also has some serious points and it helps you understanding different kinds of people in the world.

My favourite character is Mizzy! She is a great detective, friend and problem solver because she figures out who sent the postcard, what the shadow of the wreck was.

My favourite part of the story was when all the parts of the puzzle came together and the light bulb clicked!
I also liked how the author brought real life issue like refugees and racism into the story so young people can learn about how these things affect people

I recommend this story to people who like mysteries and like to learn about worldly things like racism. The story did make me feel sad at some times and excited at some times, it was a rollercoaster of feelings!

Reading this book made me understand how the world works in ways i didn’t know before, like why someone might have to get on a boat and leave their home. The message of the story is never give up, be good to all people, support your friends.

About the Book

Spending half-term with cousins in St Jude’s-on-Sea, Mizzy sees a spooky shadow on a wrecked old fishing boat on the shore and thinks she’s found her next mystery. But her cousins seem determined to keep her in the dark about their comings and goings to the wreck, and she’s left alone to help their old Greek-Cypriot grandfather Papou sort out his papers.

Then an anonymous postcard arrives for Papou, featuring a picture of the old wreck and the words WHAT REALLY HAPPENS? Mizzy must solve the mystery of the postcard sender and prove once again that she is the best detective in town!
