I love how the author made puzzles in the book and some pages where you could put all of your ideas down
I really enjoyed this book! It was fun to try and find out the murderer as well as wanting to know what will happen next.
I love how the author made puzzles in the book and some pages where you could put all of your ideas down. The book was really interesting because I love any sort of mystery.
My favourite character was Buoy because even though he was a dog he was really supportive to Brooke and gave them some ideas/clues to find out who murdered all of the teachers. Brooke was really brave joining a school when a teacher had just been murdered by someone that no one knows about.
Especially as she was autistic and was frightened to come into school because she was scared she would get bullied like she did in her old school. She was determined to crack the case but then when two other teachers got murdered, she did not stop investigating.
Unfortunately, because she was so eager, she broke the club apart and lost all of her friends. She did not go to school the next day or the day after that but then the next day she got a call from one of her friends making her come into school.
She suddenly found out who the real murderer was and then her friend group got back together. I think the moral of the story is to stick together no matter how upset you are with one another.
I would recommend this book for children 9+ because there are some death scenes and it might be a little bit dramatic for some younger children.
About the Book
Every year, six local schools compete to win the Christmas Cup. Last year, the rival school to Brooke Parkin’s school won for the most crackers pulled in a minute!
This year, the cup will be judged and awarded to the school with the perfect mince pie. But when a series of murders seemed to be linked to the very mince pies (each with a clue from a letter from the alphabet imprinted in the pastry) the five neuro-divergent children must turn detective and combine their skill sets to find the killer.
