I really enjoyed The Griffin Gate, it’s an exciting story which left me wanting to know more
The Griffin Gate is about a young girl called Grace and her family. Grace’s great grandma Griffin invented a map with all the places in the world on it, the Griffin Map.
The whole family were wardens of the map except for Grace. She wasn’t properly trained to use it, but her brother left her alone on one occasion with it…
Suddenly a new place flashed up red on it! This meant people needed help fighting crime and solving mysteries. Grace decided to teleport to the place in the map but when she arrived safely, did the village really need help or was there more to it? Read on to hear about Grace’s adventure!
I really enjoyed The Griffin Gate, it’s an exciting story and every time I picked it up and read it, it always left me wanting to know more.
About the Book and Author
The Griffin Gate is a steampunk fantasy adventure story for children aged 7-10 years.
Grace’s family are wardens of the Griffin Map, using its teleport technology to fight crime across Moreland. Although Grace is still too young, she longs to go on missions herself.
After all, if her brother, Bren, can do it, why can’t she?
So when Grace finds herself alone with the map when a distress call comes in, she jumps at the chance to prove she’s up to the task. But the map transports Grace to a remote village where nothing is quite as it seems … Has she taken on more than she can handle?

Vashti Hardy is a British author of acclaimed children’s and middle-grade fantasy novels, known for rich world-building and imaginative adventure. She has a first-class honours degree in English teaching and an MA in Creative Writing from University of Chichester, after which she worked as a primary school teacher before turning full-time to writing, copywriting, and digital marketing.
