I have enjoyed reading this book and have already read it twice [because it was so good]
Even armed robbers can’t outsmart Pickles the dog. In this funny story, Elsie and her dog Pickles look forward to playing at the world cup – for Elsie, this is more important than anything.
I really liked that this book was told by Pickles, it’s written as if the dog was writing it in first person.Once the world cup trophy was stolen, Pickles the dog became a detective dog and wanted to save the World Cup.
At the end of the book I really liked the real-life stories that inspired this book which was extremely cool.
Especially a story about Fara Williams who was a homeless person at 19 years old and went on to play football for England!
This story was very inspiring. Even Pickles is based on a real dog called Pickles.

About the Book
Dog-lovers will especially enjoy reading this story about a dog and football. The book also contains black and white illustrations by Elisa Paganelli.
The only thing that Pickles loves more than football is his best friend, and owner, Elsie. She’s smart, kind, funny and AMAZING at football.
Even though Dad works hard to provide for them, life off the pitch is tough. Sometimes it feels like their team of three against the world is losing.
With the announcement that the World Cup is coming home to England and that Elsie’s team might have the chance to play in a half-time match at Wembley Stadium, it’s the happiest they’ve ever been. But when disaster strikes their dreams are shattered and it looks like its up to Pickles to save the world (cup) …
