It is set in 1814 it is a winter story. The main character of the story is Lydia Marmalade who has a sausage dog called Colin. Lydia goes to stay at Lady Partridge’s house because she is an orphan with nowhere else to live. Sadly, Lydia has lost her mother and needs a new home. Bel the Sprite comes into their world. Lydia makes a wish to see her mum and the wish was granted. Lydia went back in time to spend time with her mum who advised Lydia to always be true to herself.
Lydia becomes friends with a stable boy, a cook and a butler who all worked at Lady Partridge’s house. She got on with them and they all became friends.
I enjoyed reading the book and my mind was giving me a good look at the story as I was reading it. It really is a great book to read and perfect for anyone looking to embrace the spirit of Christmas. There are some funny bits in the book it made me laugh. The proof I read did not have the illustrations in the the finished copy will also have black and white pictures to support the story.
It such a good read for ages 7-11 I couldn’t put it down!
It was such a lovely good book to read.
About the Book
