The Adventures of Rap Kid – The G.O.A.T Written by M C Grammar. Reviewed by Felix, Age 10

The story took place at the school and also they went to the Globe Theatre in London to battle Shakespeare. This was a fun way to learn about Shakespeare. I think the opening paragraph is good because it gets your energy pumping from the start.

I liked Rap Kid because he was funny and is really good at rapping. He also was really encouraging to his teammates in the G.O.A.T. games.

I liked that in the story, at the end, instead of it being Snoop Dogg it was Snoop Frog! Also, they had rap battles with famous people like Cleaopatra and Hades which taught you fun facts about them using rap. There is an unexpected twist when his teammates get knocked out of the rap battle even though it seems like they were about to win. I liked how it kept me on my toes!

The ending is good because the main character left you hanging a bit. He said they were headed to the biggest rap battle in the world. So, I think there may be another book after this one, which is exciting…

There are illustrations which I liked showing pictures of the rap battles and graffiti. One of my favourite aspects of the book is how interactive it is – giving me fun things to do like a quiz to answer and interactive things to circle or write about throughout the book!

The positive messages about not giving up – even though some people were knocked out they kept going as a team are inspiring.

I would recommend this book to kids age 7-11 – especially if you like high energy books.
