I recommend this book to people who like monsters or adventures
Stitch by Pádraig Kenny is about two monsters called Stitch and Henry created by a professor. The main characters are Stitch, Henry, Alice, Professor Hardacre. At the beginning of the story Stitch is 585 days old he meets Henry and Alice. Alice is the professor’s assistant.Stitch has stubby fingers and skin that is pink and blotches of red on his cheeks. Stitch and Henry need to escape from the professor’s evil nephew. Will they get out of the lab?
I liked the fact that Stitch is created in the same way as Frankenstein. Henry uses ‘bubble’ at the end of his words like ‘understandbubble’ or ‘inexplicabubble’. This is hilarious because people don’t normally talk like that. However, Henry could speak properly at the end without using the word ‘bubble’. I felt happy for him because he was able to progress his way of speaking.
It saddened me when the professor’s evil nephew took over the lab as he didn’t treat Henry and Stitch well. The professor’s nephew also shouted “Get out “ to Henry so then Henry ran away to the town. Henry got taken by the villagers and they also tried to get Stitch. It made me feel worried for Stitch as he was in trouble and he was my favourite character in the story.
Overall, I recommend this book to people who like monsters or adventures. I also would recommend this book to people who are 8 years old or above because there are some complicated words in it. However, for an avid reader this is an engaging and thrilling book which brings the characters to life. I would rate this book 9 out of 10 because I like the storyline of the book and the characters in the story.

This book is a gentle introduction to the horror genre for young readers who like their adventure stories to be a little bit scary and include an element of freak.
Stitch is not a monster – he’s a creation.
He and his friend Henry Oaf were brought to life by the genius Professor Hardacre, and have spent all their days in a castle deep in the woods, far from humankind. But when the Professor dies and his pompous nephew comes to take over the laboratory, they soon find out that his sights are set not on scientific discovery, but personal glory. And Henry is his next experiment.
Can Stitch and Henry escape his clutches and make their way in a world they were never built for – and may never be ready for them?
