I think children who like eerie stories and mysteries will LOVE this book
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I read this spooky and brilliant book in just 2 days. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I found this book really interesting due to the mysterious events that took place. An example is when Mason enters the house and stumbles on the dead Christmas tree covered in black goo. He also discovers his parents have vanished!
My favourite character was Joss because she is cool and strong. She doesn’t get scared easily and is helpful.
The Best part:The mushroom trees! They’re strange and magical. I enjoyed trying to guess what they were.
I think children who like eerie stories and mysteries will LOVE this book. It’s perfect for dark, autumn nights.

When Masen, Conor and Joss wake up in the caravan on Christmas morning, a chill of unease fills the air.
Their presents sit untouched in the house across the way, but their parents are nowhere to be found.
Outside, a blizzard rages. Families don’t just vanish on Christmas Day. Something is very wrong – but what?
