It's written from the dogs point of view, as if he is the one telling the story
I loved the book Rolo’s story because first of all its about a dog and it’s written from the dogs point of view, as if he is the one telling the story. I really enjoyed the book because I love dogs and the story has a happy ending after a very sad start.
I found it very hard to put the book down and just wanted to keep reading it so I could find out what happened to Rolo.
The story starts off sad as Rolo was in a home where he was unloved and unwanted. Luckily he found a place he would rather be, that was on the streets as stray but at least he was happy. Or at least he thought he was until Freya found him then he changed his mind about two legs.
Rolo is a beautiful dog I fell in love with him straight away.
At the start of the book, he is a very scared and nervous dog due to the way he has been treated and this makes me feel sad that people would treat a dog in this way.
I could really relate to this book having a dog myself. Yes dogs do require a lot of work, caring for them and looking after them, but they are so worth it and I’m glad that Rolo got to experience this.
I hope that anyone who reads this book will really consider the time and love that needs to go into looking after a dog before getting one as this shows how sad a dog can feel if not looked after properly.
I would recommend this book to all my friends as it’s a great story, I think it is aimed at readers 7-10 years old.
This book was that good that I’m going to read Buddy’s Story by the same author
