Postman Planet Reviewed by Ben, Age 8

You will need to read this book to find out what happens on a planet with unicorns. Postman Planet thinks he’s amazing and wrote his own theme song. However, it is terrible, terribly funny!

The name of Postman Planet’s boss is so long that it took me more than a minute to read it. Postman Planet is so unhappy about being sent to the fluffy unicorn planet that he screams ‘Noooooo’ for so long there’s a whole chapter in the middle of it!

The unicorn planet was very funny because the atmosphere was actually made of jelly. The ending was less funny because it didn’t take place on the unicorn planet. Unicorns rule… Not! The space Vikings look nothing like real Vikings. My fave character is Stamp because HE IS A 73 YEAR OLD DOG!!! That’s in human years – really his 511th birthday is the latest one in dog years.

Postman Planet doesn’t want a sidekick but I would because it could do my work for me. Reading this book made me think about what a cyber dog could do.

I think this would suit children who are a bit younger than me, maybe for Year 3. I don’t think unicorns would like reading this book – they would probably poke a horn through it to be honest.

There could have been some more pictures – perhaps it could have been a graphic novel?
