When I was sent the list of books I could choose from to review , this one was my first choice. The title echoed around my head and I knew this one would be right for me. As soon as I saw this book I was met by a beautiful cover illustration of what seemed like the monsters . This book twists the plot and makes the monster seem so normal to us.

This story took me a while to get into but when I got into the gist of it I was completely hooked. I literally couldn’t take my eyes off it. My favourite part of this book is when they reveal the monster and everyone is so shocked at how normal he was.

My favourite character has to be the monster because although everyone jeers at him he still stays brave and strong. The characters show lots of remarkable qualities such as resilience when the sparrow heart helped the robin and kindness when the boy helped the monster.

I loved looking at the illustrations they are so detailed and neat. I hope one day I can draw like this! The author has done a really good job of making it a gripping and unique tale.

I would recommend this book for people who want a very different type of story to read and are ready for a heartwarming tale filled with friendship, celebrating differences and telling everyone a message , we are all different but that is what makes us unique.
