Book Review

I recommend it to anybody who likes monsters, jokes and gross stuff like snot and toxic toad gas

I asked my cat to choose with his paw which of my ideas I’d written down for the review I should include, and he promptly went back to sleep. I’m not hiring him again!

Monster Doctor is a graphic novel divided into chapters with lots of pictures.

There is a monster per chapter and sometimes five monsters per chapter. Have a look on page 12-13 for a funny picture of an x-ray of a snake. Gerry the Radioactive Daredevil was put into the snake to find the other animals that were stuck in the labyrinth-like snake.

It describes cheese puffs as “artificially flavoured dairy bi-product in an unnatural shape and colour” which I thought was hilarious. You’ll have to read the book to find out why cheese puffs are needed in the middle of an operation. But don’t worry, it’s right at the start, so you won’t be wasting too much time finding it.

I thought it was funny that the ‘Toxic Ooze Pit’ was turned into the toilets. I think that the year 3 boys’ toilet should be renamed the ‘Toxic Ooze Pit’.

There’s a sign saying:
“The Haunted Forest is twinned with Delightfulville”

If they met the other town then there would be a) a lot of screaming b) have I mentioned the screaming?
It’s definitely trying not to get sued because instead of writing ’20,000 leagues under the sea’ it writes ’20,001 leagues under the sea’. Frankenstein’s submarine can go one deeper than the famous saying.

I recommend it to anybody who likes monsters, jokes and gross stuff like snot and toxic toad gas. The minimum age limit does not exist. It is for anybody who can read.
