it has lots of twists and turns with a range of different characters
Home is about 14-year-old Leah and her inquisitive mind. She’s sick of bullies targeting her little brother, Aiden, and silly beauty fads at school, and she feels like no one truly understands her. Not even Maia – her special friend – albeit the bucket-loads of advice she’d offer.
One night, Leah feels a strange urge to run to her local park and, upon arrival, has a life-changing, out-of-body experience gliding through space with the stars. This leaves her with the burning question: What is home?
To answer her question, she faces her fears and attends a 3-week summer camp with her best friend, Taka. There, she falls in love for the first time and has to face fierce, judgemental climate activist Kayleigh. Can Kayleigh and Leah put their differences aside to see the bigger picture?
I enjoyed reading this book because it has lots of twists and turns with a range of different characters. My favourite character was probably Kayleigh because she had a deeper personality than was first suggested.
I would recommend this book to sci-fi readers and, more specifically, people aged 12+ because the philosophical side can be quite confusing at times!
