Book Review

definitely read if you like Pokemon and giant wolves that can bite heads off

HoloMonsters manual:
First, draw your animal card. Can be anything, from a flying wolf to a hacking worm with wings.
Secondly, slot your card, face up, into your summoner.
Third, either choose an attack or slot a spell card or artefact card into the space next to your monster and watch it attack the opposition (which, with the new version, hopefully isn’t you).
Please note that this game does not exist. If it did, terms and conditions would apply!

So that’s how to play HoloMonsters (I think). I would only like the old small summoners. If I had to play the new giant ones I would use cute animals top trumps cards. In the practice rounds against dummies one mannequin head was knocked off twice (maintenance order – fasten on dummy head properly).
In conclusion, definitely read if you like Pokemon and giant wolves that can bite heads off.

About the Book

In Holomonsters, your bedroom can become a battlefield, as monsters, spells and artefacts are brought to life through the magic of hologram technology.

But when superfan Newt Hawkin is invited to Holomonsters HQ to test a new version of the game, he discovers its engineers are using real magic to take it to dangerous new levels.

Can Newt stop them before the holomonsters break free from their creators’ control for good . . . ?
