I found Football School – Epic Heroes a really interesting book. How many interesting tales it has!
I found some facts about football that I didn’t know before. There were a lot of dramatic victories and the illustrations were perfect!
I really liked the stories about how teams at the bottom of the league can win their way to the top.
Another story I remember was more about cheaters than heroes. Fans helped their team to cheat by throwing a blaze on the pitch. One of the players rolled in the fire causing the game to be stopped.
I thought Football School was an awesome book – 5 stars!

Alex Bellos (born 1969) is a British writer, broadcaster and popular‑mathematics communicator who studied Mathematics and Philosophy at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He began his career as a journalist — working for The Guardian (among other newspapers) and serving as its South America correspondent during his time living in Brazil — before turning to writing books about maths and puzzles.

Ben Lyttleton is a British football journalist, author and consultant known for blending sport, psychology and education in his work. He wrote the acclaimed book 'Twelve Yards: The Art & Psychology of the Perfect Penalty', explores what it takes to perform under pressure on the football pitch, and co‑authored the children’s series Football School, which uses football as a lens to teach wider topics like history, science and culture.
