I think Dave is overreacting!
I liked this book and read it twice. My favourite character was Skipper because he’s the referee between Dave and Dave.
The best challenge was the quiz where Dave Pigeon goes against other Dave – that was absolutely hilarious.
If another Ben strolled up to me, I would be fine with it because it’s not a complete clone, just someone else with the same name. There are lots of Bens out there so, I think Dave is overreacting – it’s just the name he’s angry about – why is he overreacting so much just because of the name they share?
I think my friend should ask questions only I would know to tell who the real Ben is. He should use jammy dodgers and chocolate digestives if he was giving me the biscuit challenge in the book.
This isn’t a graphic novel: it has hundreds of pictures though. I liked the pictures of conversations in speech bubbles, for example the one starting on page 1.
If you’ve read Terrible Trio or any of the previous Dave Pigeon books and liked them you will like this book too.

Swapna Haddow is a British born children’s and middle grade author who first rose to fame with her debut series Dave Pigeon — a humorous pigeon themed comic adventure that won the Greenhouse Funny Prize and several regional children’s book awards. Before becoming a full time writer she trained in medical sciences but ultimately decided to follow her passion for storytelling. These days she lives in Dunedin, New Zealand with her husband, son and their dog — and continues to write playful, animal filled books beloved by children.

Sheena Dempsey is an Irish children’s illustrator and author born in Cork. She has illustrated over thirty books—including the Dave Pigeon series by Swapna Haddow—and her debut graphic novel 'Pablo & Splash' was born from a penguin-themed webcomic she created during the pandemic
