I liked how you had to actually look for the clues to discover who the Chameleon is
I really enjoyed this book so much that it kept me reading into the night, with its humour, car chases and plot twists. I liked how you had to actually look for the clues to discover who the Chameleon is. It wasn’t easy like in some other mysteries I have read.
My favourite part of this book has to be when Clem and Gilbert, her best friend, go to The Chicken Leg Jazz Club. I really enjoyed how Clem’s friend Winnie helps them to get in, it’s really quite funny.
I also really like the illustration by Honie Beam for this scene (page 141) with Clem climbing onto the stage during all the commotion of the ‘raid’ by Sargent Stickler, Clem’s nemesis.
My favourite character was the Chameleon, I really liked the ending involving them, it wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was extremely gripping. I also really liked the theatre and music aspect of this book and I thought it was really clever.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery, adventure and feminism. It is 100% a 10/10 and I can’t wait to read the next one
