Chronicles of Whetherwhy – The Age of Enchantment

had read all of Anna James’ Pages and Co. series and I didn’t think it was going to be as good. I was so wrong!
I read this book during an hour and a half delay in Crete, the plane journey to Amsterdam and the five hour layover from our missed flight home.
When first was given this book to review I wasn’t sure I wanted to read it- I had read all of Anna James’ Pages and Co. series and I didn’t think it was going to be as good. I was so wrong!
My favourite character was Juniper because she is such a strong person, I loved how attached she was to magpies. I also though Zinnia was a good character, although she was unpopular I thought that perhaps she was just misunderstood, most likely not.
I also liked Jessy she was very brave and clever, and helped Rafferty (Juniper’s twin brother) to find his feet in Stormgrove.
My favourite part of the story was when they all fought together to stop Laurel and Larkspur and the other members of the Papercut society. It was so cool when the non-enchanters harnessed their magic in them and helped the enchanters to stop Laurel and Larkspur.
My favourite illustration was on page 154 of the night market, it was so magical and mystical to see the different stalls and the people with hot food and drinks steaming up the air. I also really liked the cover illustration, my favourite bit of it was the clothes the Juniper wears as well as the magpie tangle that she makes.
I loved this book so much and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series. I give it… 10/10
About the Book
