This book has shown me examples of how people have achieved great things despite going through tough times
This book is super inspiring and I really enjoyed reading it.
The book contains historical stories about various, inspirational black people. It includes amazing pictures that captured lots of detail. I liked that I was able to see what the people I was reading about actually looked like in real life.
My favourite person in the book is Walter Tull. His life was eventful with both good and bad experiences. He was a soldier in World War one and also a professional football player.
Reading this book has shown me examples of how people have achieved great things despite going through tough times.
I recommend this book to people aged 7 upwards.
About the Book
This book is a collection of tales from Black history, based on important figures and events from around the world. Each story is the ideal length to enjoy at bedtime, as well as any moment when young readers are looking for a bitesize chuck of inspiration from the past!
This curated collection of stories are all written and illustrated by Black creators, with a foreword by Candice Brathwaite. We like that this inspiring collection includes the young reader’s winning entry from the Cocoa Boy and Cocoa Girl magazines competition.
