Some authors create such an incredible world in their novels, you can almost picture yourself in it. This is one of those books. Be prepared for the read of your life, with Aliya to the Infinite City.
This story is exciting and filled with Arabic adventures from flying carpets to magic Sphinxes. Aliya has been with her Grandpa for as long as she remembers but something isn’t right. Through the keyhole, she swears she sees a bustling Arabic city and can almost smell the fresh air. Her curiosity leads her to wider and more exciting adventures.
I love this book because of its twists and turns and moments so exciting you forget to breathe. This book is one of the rare ones with epic adventures and twisting plots. Each page is jam-packed with time-travel and dazzling descriptions.
I would give this book five out of five stars. I could not put this book down, once I had started reading it. I think readers aged nine and upwards would enjoy this book as it should be read by younger readers too.
About the Book

Laila Rifaat is a Swedish-born children’s author and editor who writes imaginative middle-grade fantasy novels often inspired by her life in Cairo, Egypt, where she has lived for over two decades. She holds an M.A. in English and Comparative Literature, has worked as an ESL and IGCSE teacher, and now balances writing with raising her four children. Rifaat’s debut book Aliya to the Infinite City and other works blend adventure, time travel, and rich cultural influences from Egyptian history and mythology
