The message of the book is powerful - If you persevere and practice you can achieve anything
I loved this book because it was an easy read for me and a simple story.
But it had a powerful message that is… If you persevere and practice you can achieve anything.
I recommend this book to people who like music or if you who want to start an instrument, or also if you’re already learning one.
I like the main character and the teacher is very kind.

This short story for independent readers by former Children’s Laureate Anne Fine happens to be about music and the early challenges faced when learning to play an instrument, but it carries a valuable message about the importance of sticking at something and not giving up too soon.
It is illustrated in black and white by Roxana de Rond and printed in a format that is accessible to dyslexic readers.
Everyone’s always telling Will to stop humming, singing and making so much noise. That is, until he meets music teacher Mr Brand.
Will’s not noisy, Mr Brand explains, he has a gift – a remarkable ear for music – and he absolutely must learn to play the violin. But Will can never find peace to practise at home, and the only space at school is in a broom cupboard. Then there’s the small matter of his stage fright …
Can Will overcome all these obstacles and fulfil his dream of going to music school?
