Book Review

It is an amazing whirlwind of a book filled to the brim with magic and adventure

Vulture, by Bex Hogan, is an amazing whirlwind of a book filled to the brim with magic and adventure. It follows a woman called Marianne as she journeys to save the isles on which she and so many others call home.

I really enjoyed this book because of how much it emphasises what it is to be human, with vividly described emotions throughout the story. I think this book provided a realistic image of what would really happen if you suddenly came upon great power, like Marianne did.

The book is set on a fictional set of islands, but that hasn’t stopped the author from using a set of very real emotions and vividly describing each one, so the reader experiences every sorrow and joy of the characters.

Although this book is the third book in a trilogy, it is not heavily dependant on the first two books, and you can really follow the story well. I would recommend this book to older children, teenagers and young adults.
