Book Review

a quick, cute read that is unputdownable!

Lara Jean Covey’s most prized possessions are her love letters. But not ones that were given to her, ones that she’s written to others, with no intention of ever sending them. There are five in all: Josh, Peter, John Ambrose, Lucas and Kenny. But one day, the letters are somehow posted to all of them!

This leads to complications, as Josh dated Lara Jean’s older sister, Margot… Peter and Lara Jean decide to start a fake relationship so she can convince the other recipients that she no longer has any feelings for them. But when Lara Jean actually starts to like Peter, how is she supposed to tell her fake boyfriend that she has feelings for him?

I thought this was an interesting and well-written plot, and I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the illustrations, which were detailed and showed emotions and expressions clearly as well.

My favourite character was Kitty (Lara Jean’s younger sister) because she was always very enthusiastic and funny. I would recommend this book to any Jenny Han fans and those who like romance reads.

About the Book

What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them. All at once?

Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved – five in all.

When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only.

Until the day her secret letters are mailed and, suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.
