I would recommend this story to kids aged 12+ and for people who enjoy books with a fantasy element about friendship, change and a bit of love
Emma’s character is the kind of person who wants everything to be planned. She needs everything organised and when one part of her plan goes wrong it throws her off balance. Her change through the book is subtle but not unnoticeable and I feel like her character development was good.
My favourite scene is the ending outside the food truck. It was so sweet and the way he remembered that she’s allergic to pickles. I loved the part were Kennedy is stood there trying to get her to move but she’s just staring at Jackson.
My favourite character is Jackson. At first, when I was introduced to him as this obnoxious guy I didn’t like him. But as that started to crack and you saw the real him, he was the best. His confidence, his humour and the deepness of his character made him by far the best.
Overall, I absolutely loved reading this book. I am a bit biased since Lynn Painter is my favourite author but even if it wasn’t written by her I would still love the book.
I took me one night to read because I was that hooked on Emma and Jackson. I would recommend this story to kids aged 12+ and for people who enjoy books with a fantasy element about friendship, change and a bit of love.
About the Book
Emma knows that for this school year to pass easily it’s going to take alot of magic. Lucky for her, her nana left her instructions on how to access a magical wishing well just before she passed.
Emma plans out every carefully as she only has four wish and can’t mess it up. But what she doesn’t plan for is the new kid, Jackson, throwing in his own wishes that literally knock hers off course.
When Emma finds out that her wishes are coming true, but for Jackson, she can’t help but be angry. But if the last wish comes true for Jackson, his whole family is doomed. So, can Emma and Jackson work together to stop the wish from coming true? Or, is it too late?
