Book Review

Fanatic friends, feuds and family issues…

A fantastic YA novel – in the 16+ age bracket – exploring: consent, adoration and an absolute torrent of emotion!

The structure and layout of this book is brilliant, I really enjoyed the switch between 3 characters and online texting which broke up the passages.

Also a neutral but lovely cover with an even better storyline! The book shows how to discover hidden emotions and the realities of friendship under tension, it was a real eyeopener on young relationships and although it is not factual the story is still very socially educational.

I haven’t read many novels about intimate relationships but this is definitely in my top favourite books, due to its combination of topics and use of comedy to convey situations. Be warned though you might laugh and gasp out loud (I know I did) and you will definitely be enjoying Lisa Williamson’s narrative so don’t read too quickly!

Thank you so much Lisa and I will be looking forward to more of your books, hopefully even having the honour of reviewing more of them!!!

About the Book

Molly – Rhiannon – Ben

Ben is devoted to Molly – despite his unrefined flirting techniques.
Rhiannon, being Ben’s twin sister, finds comedy in his pathetic approaches but also rebukes his gooey love for her best friend.

Molly, well her personality is just a mask and no one will ever see that because she won’t let her status slip. Everyone is jealous of her, all the boys love her and she can’t get enough compliments from simply everyone, especially parents. And Rhiannon is her best friend and she would never change that for the world, however she just wishes that Rhi would loosen up from time to time.

One last party before exam season starts, can’t do any harm, right?

Molly is upset but she won’t show it, not till everyone’s falling apart, and Ben is distracted because all he can think about is spending the evening with Molly. MOLLY. MOLLY!

Whereas Rhiannon is just praying no one winds up doing anything stupid, and they all go home as sober as before they arrived.
But, when all’s going well Molly and Ben go overboard with the booze. They’re hysterical and amongst frantic emotions Molly kisses Ben.

Soon after, Ben is spiralling. Molly doesn’t like him like that though. And Rhiannon is as unaware as the both of them about what’s to come. Was that the last night they would spend together? Will their friendship ever be repaired?
