I have never read the romantic-comedy genre before but I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like to try reading something new
The Paper and Hearts Society is a story about Ed Eastfield who starts working at a local bookshop called Wolf and Wilde. Ed meets a girl called Hannah who he soon finds out is autistic and slowly a friendship forms between them. At home, Ed struggles to cope as his mum starts seeing new people after her divorce which proves too much for Ed and he runs away from home.
I really enjoyed reading this story as it had the perfect combination of funny and moving moments. The Paper and Hearts Society would definitely be a club I would go to as I love to read. I have never read the romantic-comedy genre before, but I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like to try reading something new.
The beginning of the book was definitely one of my favourite parts as it begins with Olivia (Ed’s friend) announcing that he was dead. At first I was shocked but then you find out that it is a meeting of the P & H Society and that they are just acting. I think that this was a very clever opening paragraph as it made me want to find out more about the club and read on.

Bookishly Ever After is the third and final Paper & Hearts Society adventure written by BookTuber and author Lucy Powrie. For teenage book geeks this series is mint as it is a shameless celebration of books, reading and literary pursuits.

Lucy Powrie is a British author, former book blogger and YouTuber (known online as “lucythereader”) who first began reviewing books in her early teens. She is best known for the YA series The Paper & Hearts Society, whose first volume was published in 2019, and her more recent novel Real When I'm With You (2025). In 2024 she became the youngest ever Chair of The Brontë Society — combining her love of literature, advocacy for neurodivergent inclusion, and promotion of YA/books community culture.
