I really liked the storyline because it has exciting plot twists so you are never bored.
The Ocean and the Bones by Genevieve Carver is a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat with anticipation of what will happen next.
I really liked the storyline because it has exciting plot twists so you are never bored. I liked how the author wrote most of the book in one character’s perspective but wrote a few chapters in another’s point of view, where you learn about the character’s backstory.
I liked Kalø’s character because she is very determined to accomplish her goals showing that she had ambition and courage. My favourite part of the book was when Meg and Kalø voyage across the ocean because the description was very realistic and it was like you could feel what the characters were going through.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves thrilling adventures, mysterious plots and stories based on history.
About the Book
When Meg finds a girl named Kalø washed up on a beach in the village of Chalk Howe, no-one is sure what to think of her. Especially when she claims she is from the island of Dogga Ø… which legend says had sunk beneath the surface of the sea many generations ago.
Dogga Ø was thought to be where the entrance to the Everdeep – a place deep under the sea where the Water Spirits dwell. After the people of Chalk Howe heard about that, rumours started flying around that Kalø was one of the Brinksfolk, people who are half Water Spirit. And when the crops fail and the weather is foul for days on end – and Kalø is to blame – Meg and Kalø must flee… to Dogga Ø.
