It is exciting, funny and packed with great adventures
Nora’s character was awesome. She was smart and brave but also witty and a bit egotistical. Nora had to battle with so much in such a short time period but she dealt with it and came out better than she was before.
My favourite part from the book was when Lotte was first introduced to the family. It was so good to read the way her introduction was such a surprise to everyone and the way the cousins/family members acted. Every person in the family had different feelings towards Lotte and the way the author described this and depicting the characters very well was fantastic.
My favourite character was August. He is funny and smart. I loved reading his POV’s (I counted the pages up until his)! The way he felt towards Nora and the way he described her was amazing and had me giggling. He is one of my favourite book characters ever as I felt like he was relatable and very relaxed.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It is exciting, funny and packed with great adventures. I’d recommend this book to ages 12+ who enjoy fantasy stories with a subplot of romance.

The Notorious Virtues follows the Holtzfalls, the most known family in all of Walstad. They own everything. The money. The magic. The country. Honora (Nora) has been the heiress all her life, until her mother dies.
Now everything is up for grabs, so Nora is placed onto the Veritaz trials and has to battle against her cousins to be her grandmother’s heiress again. But there’s a surprise guest. Lotte, Nora’s aunt’s daughter who no one has ever heard of before. Nora has been brought from a covent and goes from being unknown to the front page of every newspaper in the country.
After seeing a newspaper, Nora realises that her mother’s death may not have been just a mugging. It was a planned murder! Looking for the person who killed her mother starts to reveal some enemies so Nora needs to work with someone she can trust. But that’s a bit hard when they hate everything her family does and stands for…
