The plot had me hooked from the beginning and was a very fun read, despite the wartime setting
This book is set during World War 2 and set in the UK, when Hitler had his airforce predominantly attacking London. It is about a poor family whose father has died.
The story revolves around 3 sisters: Lydia, Peggy, and Teddy. The book is divided into 3 different parts, one for each sister, and shows their perspectives of the war and how their lives were affected. I think giving a personal connection to events, really helped me get a good insight of their varied views and how the war affected them, not just individually, but as a whole. The personal nature of the accounts helped me to connect more with that time in history and taught me more about life then.
The plot had me hooked from the beginning and was a very fun read, despite the wartime setting. There are, however, some heartbreaking moments that had me nearly crying. The author really had a way of making me feel the emotions from the page, which I loved.
If you like a serious, thought provoking book, that also gives some historical insights, I highly recommend The Blitz Sisters.

War has been declared and the lives of three sisters, Lydia, Peggy and Teddy, are about to be turned upside down.
As bombs rain down on London, the girls will lose their homes, their things, their loved ones . . .
But they will find lost kittens, friendships with fellow rebels, the need for art, the strength and love to carry on, and a greater sense of family than ever. And with each other’s help and with the radical changes to society that war brings, the three sisters will discover the essence of who they truly are.
