I found the dual narrative interesting because it shows both of the characters’ perspectives and their obvious ignorance of what each other was thinking!

Aiden’s life changes when Emma (his best friend since childhood and crush) leaves for boarding school. She didn’t tell him herself and Emma returned with a new boyfriend (Sam).Emma felt that she was stuck in the middle when Sam and  Aiden don’t get along.

I like the way Aidon loves Emma despite her flaws and his courage. I also enjoy reading about Emma’s love of animals. Overall, Aiden is my favourite character for his resilience. However, I dislike Emma’s boyfriend Sam due to his arrogance and cold-heartedness – he isn’t an animal person.

Reading the novel made me feel intrigued and addicted to the story as a result of the cliffhangers.

I was surprised at the unexpected plot twist in Chapter 10 – toward the end of the book.

I think that the story is based on the idealistic, ambitious and quirky traits of the main characters; Aiden and Emma, making their story less than perfect: this is what makes the narrative interesting for the audience and sometimes cause slight frustration!
