I would describe Goddess Crown a riveting, action novel with a beautifully written slow-burn romance embedded within it.
Goddess Crown follows the tale of Kalothia, a 16-year-old girl and her journey to the throne. After leaving the only home she’s ever known deep within the forest, she sets out to find her true parents with her bodyguard ‘Nahir’. But the journey is as tremulous as it is exciting.
Along the way Kalothia finds herself in an unknown small town, where everyone seems to be mourning the loss of their king. Shortly after her arrival the town is ambushed, and those ambushing seem to be after HER!
Amidst all the commotion her head wrap is pulled off, and her vibrant red locks are revealed, despite the chaotic environment everyone appears to be in awe and Kalothia doesn’t understand why? Red hair only runs in the royal family they say…
This story is a ‘rags to riches’ feminist fantasy that will leave you smiling, scowling and result in your jaw dropping!
I would highly recommend this Y/A novel to all readers.
About the Book
Kalothia has grown up in the shadows of her kingdom, hidden away in the East after her parents were outed as enemies of the king. When assassins attack her home on her sixteenth birthday, she must flee to the king’s court – a beautiful but lethal nest of poison, plots and danger, overseen by an entrenched patriarchy.
Can Kalothia navigate this most worldly of places to find her own role? What if she must choose between her country and her heart?
