A funny and simple yet great novel including all the romance tropes we know and love!
A Grave Inheritance is a wonderfully fast paced easy to read Y/A novel I truly devoured! The novel beautifully encapsulates the trials and tribulations of being a young woman in the 1800-1900s whilst also adding a murder/mystery flair with a little bit of romance and spookiness, all in all creating a perfectly balanced and enjoyable read. I would recommend to anyone, but especially young girls as the book also highlights key problems women face today such as dominating men who often think they’re right, when they’re not!

About the Book
After her father and older sister both die suddenly, Dolores is left with the family’s inheritance, and a large house she’s sure is haunted. Teaming up with her occult-obsessed neighbour, Ada, and the mysterious spiritual medium, Violet, the three girls plan to dispel the bad spirits from Dolores’ home.
But when Dolores uncovers a clue that suggests her sister Edith’s death wasn’t due to natural causes, what starts as an investigation into ghostly apparitions develops into the unravelling of something far more sinister. . .
Ghosts. Murder. The patriarchy. One should never underestimate what a trio of free-spirited young women can handle.

Felicity Epps is a British author whose debut YA novel, 'A Grave Inheritance', is the first in her three-book Society of Free Spirits series. She studied English Literature for her undergraduate degree before completing a Master’s in Eighteenth-Century Studies, where she focused on female murderers in true crime writing. Based in Broadstairs, Kent, she draws inspiration from history, cemeteries, antique photographs, and loves knitting jumpers and drinking hot chocolate in her free time.
