I really enjoyed You’ve Got This, Little Pangolin. I liked seeing Kuye learning lots of new things. I really enjoyed it when Kuye finally learnt how to roll, it made me happy.

You’ve Got This, Little Pangolin is such a lovely, reassuring story about trying new things, overcoming worries and believing in yourself. The message is really positive without feeling too heavy, and it gives little ones a lovely reminder that it’s okay to feel nervous when trying something new. The illustrations are warm and engaging, making it a lovely book to share together.
About the Book
Kúyẹ is a baby pangolin who just can’t wait to grow up and do things all on his own. But Kúyẹ’s eagerness to go go go, without listening to his mama, keeps getting him into all sorts of mix-ups. Most of all, he’s desperate to master “the ball”—the special way pangolins curl up to protect themselves. To Kúyẹ, it looks like a fun game, but when a snake shows up, he learns that it’s much more than that.

Tọlá Okogwu
Tọlá Okogwu is a British-Nigerian author, journalist, and haircare educator best known for her empowering children’s books that celebrate identity, culture, and community. She writes both middle-grade fiction—such as the Onyeka series—and picture books like Daddy Do My Hair?, which highlight positive representations of Black families. In addition to her writing career, Okogwu advocates for diverse storytelling and uses her platform to champion authentic representation in children’s literature.
