It felt like I was the little witch telling everyone about my adventure with my mummy
Storm really enjoyed this book and we have read it every day since it arrived. The pictures are bright and fun which she says helped her to know that it would be a fun story. She also enjoyed the rhyming aspect and enjoyed guessing what the end-words might be.
It really sparked her imagination. The story is written in first person so she could really feel like she was involved in the story. She said ‘It felt like I was the little witch telling everyone about my adventure with my mummy’.
‘My favourite part was when pumpkin patch turned into lots of different animals and then she saw that her new pet rat still had wings, I wonder how she fixed him did she have to go on another adventure?’
About the Book
This glossy picture book is a funny story, told in rhyming verse, about a little witch who is learning with her Mummy all the skills she will need to be a grown-up witch.
Betty is brewing her first ever potion! And potions need ingredients – ingredients that can only be found in the WILD. So Betty, with her mum by her side, soars off into the magical, moonlight night to bravely gather her wicked and wonderful supplies: vampire fangs, fairy dust, werewolf whiskers, and more. The only problem is, she might have to come face-to-face with a few monsters – a few treacherous monsters! – along the way…

Michelle Robinson is a bestselling British children’s author who has written over 60 picture books, including 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth' and 'There’s a Lion in My Cornflakes'. Bryony May Smith
Briony May Smith is a British illustrator and children’s-book author whose work draws on fairy tales, folklore and the natural world. She studied Illustration at Falmouth University (earning a First Class degree) and went on to publish picture books such as Margaret's Unicorn, The Mermaid Moon and Imelda and the Goblin King — with her art praised for its enchanting charm.
