I like the part where the frog sits under the shower and when he goes fishing
What a funny duck! I’ve never seen a duck in a raincoat before! I like the part where the frog sits under the shower and when he goes fishing.
I thought the frog should have pyjamas like the duck though…
From Jacob’s Mum: What a beautiful book. The illustrations are very atmospheric and help to drive the mood of the story. Jacob and I talked about making friends and having friends who like different things to you but you can still be good friends.
Jacob has said in the past that he’s sad when he’s played with a friend and they have to go home or he has to come home from their house, so we introduced that to the duck and frog conversation too.
The type is in a good clear font so this is no doubt one we’ll pick up again once Jacob starts to be able to read himself.

This is the first solo picture book from acclaimed illustrator Steve Small whose illustrative style is already recognisably his.
This charming and amusing picture book about friendship will be appreciated as much by the grown-up reading the it as the child listening to it at story-time.
Duck is not like other ducks. Duck doesn’t like water and is perfectly fine alone, thank you very much. But then, one dark and stormy night, an outgoing, water-loving, and very lost Frog turns up at Duck’s door.
Can this odd couple find Frog’s home? And will they find friendship along the way?
