This one has sharp teeth, he must be a carnivore!
This book is inspiring!
Ila loved finding out about and sharing her own knowledge about dinosaurs throughout the ages. Drawn in by the detailed images on each page, we found there was so much to discuss, it was lovely to hear Ila asking questions and telling me what she knows.
“Mummy look skeletons, this one is a diplodocus, and this one has sharp teeth, he must be a carnivore!”
When we got to the page explaining all this is known because of the work palaeontologists have done, Ila chimed “I think I’d like to be one of those too!”
And so it’s sparked a trip to the natural history museum and the beach to dig for fossils!
About the Book
This non-fiction picture book about prehistoric beasts is a great way to introduce children to dinosaurs and to poetry.
The rhymes by poet James Carter make the book and the facts more interesting and fun and the illustrations by Alisa Kosareva are detailed and atmospheric.
Our three year old reviewer enjoyed reading it so much she is now heading to the Jurassic Coast to search for fossils!
