I wish I had a cat like Squishy
I wish I had a cat like Squishy because he’s super smart.
Her Mum and Dad said, “We’re not going to act in the circus, we’re going to go to the circus,” but they did end up in the show because Hank Honk’s car broke down (he’s the star clown).
So Ava takes his place. I knew from the start that she’d be great in the circus.
I liked the rhyming story and the drawings were really good and colourful.
My Mummy says it is a good book to keep in a bag and take out and about because it is quite small. Then we have in ready if we get stuck or have to wait somewhere and want to read a story instead of getting bored.
About the Book
Ava and Squishy are going to see the circus, but when one of the acts doesn’t turn up they must perform in his place!

Pip Jones is a British children’s author, journalist, and editor, celebrated for her playful, rhyming books such as the Squishy McFluff series and Izzy Gizmo. Before turning to writing children’s fiction she worked for nearly two decades in magazines in editorial roles.

Ella Okstad
Ella Okstad is a Norwegian children’s book illustrator based in Trondheim. She studied illustration at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in the UK and has since worked with publishers across Norway, the UK, and the US, creating charming, quirky art full of humour and mischief.
