Rita wants her mummy not a witch when she is poorly and witch's kisses are yuky
Matilda loved sharing this book with her big brother and looking at all the bold colourful pictures. There was so much to look on each page and the picture of a bully with oozy spots has caused much laughter!
Matilda talked lots about how Rita wanted a witch to play with and have lots of fun. But soon Rita starts to think of some of the things that might not be so fun.

About the Book
Rita is a little girl with very big ideas. When she wants wild unstoppable spooky fun, day and night, she dreams up a witch. But what will happen if the witch scares all her friends Or gives her stinky food to eat? Perhaps a witch is not such a good idea after all…

Máire Zepf
Máire Zepf is a Northern-Irish author and translator from County Down who writes children’s and young adult books in both Irish and English. She has published more than a dozen books — from playful picture books (notably the “Rita” series) to a verse-novel for teenagers — and in 2020 won the KPMG Children's Books Ireland Award for her YA novel Nóinín.
