this is the best book I’ve ever read with my mummy that has lots and lots of writing
From the cover, I can tell that the stories are about a cheeky hamster. I like that there are two stories in one book. I like the different sizes of writing on the front cover and the colourful pictures.
In the first story, I like that Frank has the power of freezing time and people. It made me giggle when Sana took Frank to school with her and he kept freezing time. I was thinking I hope the teacher doesn’t see him. Sana kept Frank hidden really well in her bag and pocket and no one realised he went to school. Sana is trying to keep a secret and this is hard for her.
In the second story, my favourite part was when Frank and Sana were both small and the cat was chasing them. This story is very exciting because I thought the fast cat would catch Sana and Frank, but it didn’t.
I like that each chapter has a picture of Frank the hamster. These pictures are cute. I like the picture of the cat licking Sana’s arm.
I like the way the author used their imagination to write the stories in this book.
I think this is the best book I’ve ever read with my mummy that has lots and lots of writing. I am going to take this book for ‘show and tell’ at my school to show my class, I think they will like it too.

Two short stories in a slim book that is not overwhelmingly lengthy for emerging young readers.
Sana has always wanted a hamster. But when she gets Frank she gets a bit more than she’d bargained for. Because Frank is a special hamster. A MAGIC hamster. And a VERY NAUGHTY magic hamster, who keeps getting Sana into all kinds of trouble!
And Frank just keeps getting more magical powers. Whether he’s freezing time or shrinking Sana down to the size of a mouse, one thing’s for sure … life with a magic hamster is never boring!
