Book Review

there was lots to spot in the pictures

Laurie’s Review
I liked how Mortimer went on a big and dangerous journey because he wanted to be there for his friend, it was very exciting. I enjoyed reading it with my mummy and looking at all the pictures along the way, there was lots to spot.

Mum’s review
Mortimer’s Picnic is a really lovely story about friendship, determination and going the extra mile for someone you care about-such a lovely message for little ones. The illustrations are fun and full of detail, making it a wonderful book to read and explore together.

About the Book

Mortimer is planning a picnic with his best friend Oggy. It’s all ready when a note arrives – poor Oggy has a cold and can’t come after all. Kind-hearted Mortimer decides he’ll look after his friend and take the picnic to him.

But a little rabbit hurrying through the woods with a basket of sausages and cake soon attracts the attention of some fierce, hungry creatures and, before long, Mortimer has a crocodile, a wolf and a troll snapping at his heels and wanting to eat not just the picnic but Mortimer too!
