Book Review

Me and mummy talked afterwards about how it is nice to help your friends

Laurie:

I really liked Lion in a Hurry. My favourite part was seeing all the different ways the animals arrived. I loved looking at all the different types of transport they came in on, and it was fun spotting each one in the pictures. The illustrations are really bright and colourful, and there was so much to look at on every page. Me and mummy talked afterwards about how it is nice to help your friends.

Mum:
Lion in a Hurry was such a lovely book to read with my toddler. The story is fun and engaging, with bright, expressive illustrations that kept Laurie interested from beginning to end. They especially enjoyed spotting all the different vehicles the animals arrived in, which sparked lots of excited conversations as we read.

What I appreciated most was the gentle message about helping others, the story naturally shows the importance of kindness and taking the time to help those around you. It led to a lovely chat with my child afterwards about being thoughtful and caring towards others. It’s a beautifully illustrated book with a meaningful message, and one we’ll be reading again and again.

About the Book

Lion can’t wait to see the Main Street Parade – especially the Big Red Truck!

With the clock ticking, he hops in his car and zooms through the jungle.

But along the way he keeps running into friends who need help getting there too.

With every stop, Lion must choose between hurrying to the parade or lending a helping paw.
