Book Review

I really enjoyed the part where he rubbed his bottom against the wheelchair and how he was cheeky and stole cakes

Edith’s review:

I loved this book about Jack the horse who visited the care homes of people with dementia, I really enjoyed the part where he rubbed his bottom against the wheelchair and how he was cheeky and stole cakes. I think all the people in the care homes must love getting visits from Jack as mum told me this was based on a true story. I loved the pictures in this book as they were different too my other books and were like actual paintings.

Mum’s comments:

I loved reading this book with Edith as my Nanna had dementia and was in a care home but Edith wouldn’t remember as she was too young so I could use this book to help her relate. The illustrations were lovely too and the softness them complimented the story nicely.

About the Book

Jack Brock was enjoying his daily walk when his owner suddenly started taking him somewhere new, a care home.

Here Jack meets so many new people including Alma, Bob and Audrey and, although a little shy at first, Jack manages to bring a smile to everyone’s faces through his silly antics.
